Hello Market Lovers!
My name is Cherise McGee and I am your Langley Community Farmers Market Manager. I was born and raised in Langley on a farm in the heart of Glen Valley. I acquired my Business Administration Degree at Kwantlen Polytechnic University and shortly after started a family business in Emergency Preparedness and Self Reliant Living. My latest project, funded by the Vancouver Foundation, supported the Greenest City Initiative, where my team worked with women residing in transitional housing in the Downtown East Side. The project involved providing the skills necessary to become more sustainable and self reliant members of the community. I am passionate about urban homesteading and have a pantry that any grandma would be proud of.
When I am not at the Market I volunteer for the Langley Emergency Program, helping keep our community safe. I am a board member for the Canadian National Institute for the Blind, advocating for those with visual disabilities. I am actively involved at Blacklock Fine Arts Elementary School as secretary of the Parent Advisory Council. I also have three amazing children that make me proud everyday with their talents and accomplishments. The Market to me is an amazing platform to build on a sustainable community for future generations. Thank you for being part of the Langley Community Farmers Market and I look forward to seeing you there!
